Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has alleged that a senior BJP functionary has been altering his voter registration across multiple states in the run-up to the Bihar Assembly elections.

In a post on X, Yadav accused Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania—State Organisation General Secretary of the Bihar BJP and a resident of Gujarat—of removing his name from the voter list in Gujarat and registering in Bihar. He described Dalsania as a close aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, claiming he is part of BJP’s “special Bihar project.”

According to Yadav, Dalsania previously voted in Amit Shah’s Gandhinagar constituency during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections but has now shifted his voter registration to Bihar. Yadav alleged that after the Bihar polls, Dalsania might register in yet another state.

The RJD leader also questioned the authenticity of Dalsania’s Bihar voter details, stating that no address or house number is listed and that his name appears in Gujarati instead of Hindi—making it harder for locals to identify.

Yadav further accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of aiding the BJP in manipulating the voter list by issuing two Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) numbers to BJP leaders and workers. He cited examples, including Muzaffarpur’s BJP mayor Nirmala Devi and her relatives, who allegedly possess multiple EPIC IDs within the same constituency.

He also claimed that names of people from other states are being added to Bihar’s voter list during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) ahead of the polls.

Bihar Assembly elections are expected in October or November, though the ECI has yet to announce dates. The NDA—comprising BJP, JD(U), and LJP—aims to retain power, while the INDIA bloc, led by RJD, seeks to unseat Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Currently, the NDA holds 131 seats in the 243-member assembly, while the INDIA bloc controls 111.
